Is it a diet or eating disorder?
05.10.06 (9:02 pm)   [edit]

Teenagers face many difficulties and temptations while growing up. Being overweight — or thinking they are overweight — can lead to unhealthful methods of weight control.

Those who diet and try to control their weight using drastic methods are three times more likely to be overweight five years later, according to a recent study. In addition, these behaviors also increase their risk of developing eating disorders.

For instance, parents should lead by example and not practice unhealthful eating habits. Parents can provide a positive environment for their kids by keeping wholesome foods in the kitchen and making physical activities a normal family event.

Parents should do that but they don't. The problem lies with the high pace lifestyles most people have. What's dinner? ya know? A quick ride through the drive through has replaced the traditional ways of having meals, and the cost is down right shameful. Our children are missing out on family time together, on top of eating unhealthy. It's all around sickening. I'm not saying that everyone does this but it's so common place these days.....We really need to wake the hell up.

Hope you are well tonight L :)
